Jesse Tyler Ferguson played one of those characters - the uptight lawyer Mitchell Pritchett - and he's opened up recently about the criticism that was leveled at him in particular. Ferguson is gay himself, but not everyone liked his portrayal of Mitchell. He spoke about it on his popular podcast Dinner's On Me.
