Actor Lucas Grabeel, who played Ryan Evans in the "High School Musical" movies "cried" when he found out the long beloved character would finally come out as gay on "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series," the series' showrunner told TV Line.

He dies his hair blonde
His clothing choices
The way he talks-- Seacrest said that him, Randy, and Simon obtain together and "Gossip". Also, you could tell that Seacrest was trying to find ways to make himself watch straight. Paula Abdul became the topic of discussion, and all the sudden Ryan blurts out, "Man, she is so hot." It seemed unconvincing, appreciate he was obviously saying it to try and triumph Jimmy over. The personality of Ryan was always intended to be queer, but the films never confirmed or showed his sexuality.
The final season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is almost upon us, and the latest teaser promises some big surprises... (Troy and Gabriella, anyone?!)
in case you missed it, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman and Kaycee Stroh are all place to return. On superior of playing themselves, they will also reprise their roles from the authentic HSM movies as they film the fictional High School Musical 4: The Reunion at the upper school. The actual HSMTMTS characters will also obtain to play extras in the movie. Basically they're making a movie, within a TV show. It's very meta.
The fresh trailer reveals what fans can expect from the OG's return to the school where they filmed the iconic Disney Channel franchise, and while it's technically already been confirmed, the series looks appreciate it

But I did assume many here would be familiar with the movie series
For those confused, Ryan Evans is a character from the High Educational facility Musical trilogy. He was rather flamboyant, and many viewers assumed he was gay, but it was kind of implied he dated a girl in the third movie.
In this TV demonstrate based on the movie, this character was indeed confirmed as being gay. Kenny Ortega (who directed the movies) said he and his team put in many hints, but they were afraid the Disney wouldn't be ready for someone gay in the late 2000s, when these movies happened.
