Lost In Love (G Russell) – Wind Supply 1979

Lost in Love was the fourth studio album by Air Supply in Australia and the first to hit the charts in North America, it contained no less than three bona fide hits, and would cast the template for the duo’s future success, with a combination of easy-listening melodies and intimate lyrics set to sculpted, seamless, illumination orchestration. Lyrically Graham Russell would stick closely to a constant theme of the starry-eyed troubadour, reflecting on matters of the heart. The universal character of this romanticism, frequently about the unrequited love of a guy who doesn’t get the girl, or even a second chance to prove the depth of his feelings, contributed to the band’s broad appeal. Their lyric titles alone evoked the sentimentalism that became the group’s hall mark – All Out Of Love, Lost In Love, Making Cherish Out Of Nothing At All, were but three of the seven songs that Air Supply would take into the US superior 40 charts that included the synonyms “love” in the title.

In the 1980s, Cupid had some serious competition. Like an arrow through the heart, Air Supply hit its target with care for songs, nothing but love songs.

The formula worked for the Australian duo back then, and it still does today. Correspondent Nancy Giles caught up with the band at a sold-out reveal in Tarrytown, New York. She asked, "What does it imply for you after 45 years to know how much your music affects people?"

"Well, for me, it's still overwhelming when, I mean, we even get to do this. It just is!" said Russell Hitchcock. "To hum a song in concert and look at somebody and watch their reaction, tears or bliss or kissin' each other."

Singer Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell (who plays the guitar) have been perfecting their pop ballad mix for decades. A big part of their success is a mutual appreciation. Legend has it that, in all these years, the two never had a falling out.

"We haven't, no. Never," said Graham.

"I find that hard to believe," Giles said.

"Well, I mean, we just haven't," Graham replied. "Within the band, we have two separate roles. I'm not a command singer and I've always famous that; I just want to write songs. So, it's a perfect relationship.

Aussie rocker and Air Supply frontman Russell Hitchcock lashes out at a peeper who he claims has threatened and abused him and his fourth wife Cari: 'I've had enough!'

Air Supply rocker Russell Hitchcock has lashed out at a stalker who he claims has been harassing him and his wife Cari for years.

The Herald Sun reports that the Aussie star, 73, recently shared a video on his Facebook page slamming the stalker and saying he's 'had enough'.

'There's not one day where we don't get something negative, or insulting or contemptuous about Cari or myself, and I'm really fed up with it,' he reportedly said in a clip.

One lie he claims the stalker made up was that they slept together.

'You said I had sex with you; that's a lie,' he said.
